Tell us about your professional career<\/strong><\/p>

In 2000 I finished my degree in Industrial Mechanical Engineering in Bilbao. I did a master degree in the company Maticie in Derio focused on 3D Die Design. Catia V4 was used for this, acquiring also knowledge in pro finite element simulations.<\/p>

This master degree was a collaboration agreement with the Basque Government, with 1 year of trainging and 1 year of contract in the company. Due to the crisis in the automotive sector we could not be hired and we were relocated to other companies and sectors.<\/p>

Other colleagues and I were relocated to the former Gamesa Aeronautics, now Aernnova. Catia (3D Design) was starting to be used in the industrial sector and especially in the aerospace one, so learning about Catia was a good oportunity<\/p>

Therefore, my entry into the aerospace sector came about by chance. The day to day makes you like this industrial environment and so more than 20 years have passed dedicating myself to this sector.<\/p>

Once in Grupo Aernnova, what has been your carreer path within the company?<\/strong><\/p>

In 2001 I joined the MRB department where I worked until 2003. From there I moved to the Production Engineering department where I have had a long career, production engineering in projects such as EMB145 (Surfaces), EMB170 (Rudder&Elevator), S92 MRP, CWB A220, Tailcone A220…; r<\/span>esponsible for production of EMB145 surfaces, a tough time due to late deliveries to Embraer with production plans of 18-20 ACs\/month; o<\/span>ffers in terms of assembly hours;\u00a0<\/span>R&D projects such as Atlante, Temprocen, Clean Sky Outcome…<\/span>Currently, in the industrialization team focusing my work on the automation of assembly processes.<\/span><\/p>

What has been the most important challenge you have faced in all this time?<\/strong><\/p>

I cannot define the most important challenge. In our department, every day is a challenge. For example if we go back chronologically the most important challenges that I remember among others are, interchangeability of Emb145 surfaces, which involved a stay in Brazil at Embraer’s facilities, leading a team to validate the interchangeability of the products delivered; i<\/span>nterchangeability of the turning line of the Emb170 mobile surfaces (Rudder&Elevator); m<\/span>ulti stack drilling of the CWB and a<\/span>utomation of the assembly processes.<\/span><\/p>

What is your view of the activity at Aernnova Aeroestrucutras \u00c1lava\u00a0<\/strong>(AAA)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>?<\/strong><\/p>

As Aernnova and located at the AAA facilities, I am currently dedicated to the automation of aerospace assembly processes. The activity is very intense, and a great challenge to be automating projects with Ramp-up production plans.<\/p>

At this point, I would like to acknowledge Aernnova’s commitment in these times.<\/p>

What does your day-to-day consist of?<\/strong><\/p>

I start\u00a0 with a daily Scrum meeting where the team shares the previous day’s progress and the current day’s objectives.<\/p>

Then there are meetings and team work to define processes for new developments and to solve day-to-day problems. But always prevailing above all the safety of people, product quality and execution times.<\/p>

What disciplines do you handle?<\/strong><\/p>

The experience of so many years and the department to which we belong makes us touch several methodologies: everything related to Production and Quality Engineering (Delmia, Team Center, Amfes, Static Process Control,…), Catia V5, Methods and Times (MTM Calculation), Automation (Handling\/programming Kuka Robot, Siemens PLC, Setitec Programming,…), etc.\u00a0<\/p>

Do you have a team in charge?<\/strong><\/p>

I have people in charge. Teamwork and maintaining a good work environment is fundamental.<\/p>

What is the best learning you would highlight after all this time?<\/strong><\/p>

I would divide it into two (i) in the human aspect it is teamwork. Here I would emphasize the importance of the contribution of each member of the team so that the projects go ahead, (ii) in the technical area it is the great knowledge that we are acquiring in the automation of aeronautical processes.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
