Aernnova Group ESG Action Plan (III)

ESG

Elena de Andrés – ESG Responsible Group Aernnova
3 March 2026

In the previous editions of December 2022 and October 2023, we presented Aernnova’s ESG Action Plan, with its 2030 targets and roadmap, in which we set out strategic lines and different measures to achieve those targets.

More than three years have passed, and we would like to share and update the status of our actions so that you can see the most significant progress that has been made in the three ESG areas (Environment, Social, and Governance).

Following the order of the acronym, we begin with E-Environment:

With regard to environmental objectives, we can highlight that Aernnova has significantly reduced its energy consumption ratio through the implementation of energy management systems, which enable us to detect inefficiencies. The implementation of actions derived from energy efficiency audits has also contributed to this reduction.

We highlight the installation of an electric autoclave at COASA and the replacement of four air conditioning units in Berantevilla.

A major milestone in terms of our carbon footprint is the implementation of a tool for calculating the carbon footprint of the entire organization and our products, which has been verified by Bureau Veritas. This will enable us to meet the requirements of our customers, mainly Airbus and Embraer, to attribute greenhouse gas emissions to the products we supply to them and to contribute to the reduction of these emissions.

We continue with S-Social:

Aernnova’s main asset is its people, which is why we continue to work to protect the health and safety of all our staff through the ALWAYS SAFE program, which is being rolled out across our Spanish plants and, this year, in the US as well.

Policies and protocols on equal opportunities and non-discrimination have been reviewed.

With regard to something as deeply rooted in our corporate culture as the safety of our products for end users, the aviation safety system has been reinforced and training in this area has been intensified.

And we conclude with G-Governance:

In recent years, training on ethical issues and good corporate governance has been provided across the board to all staff and in all companies.

In addition, we are working to adapt to future European regulations that will affect Aernnova in ESG matters, and we are preparing our systems for data extraction that will give us traceability in reporting.

Procurement and Supply Chain are making a great effort to evaluate our supply chain in terms of sustainability (occupational health and safety, environmental, social, and human rights) in order to implement our customers’ ESG standards.

All this work is validated externally with ratings such as Ecovadis, which assesses our maturity in sustainability in four areas: environment/labor practices, occupational risk prevention and human rights/sustainable purchasing/ethics and information security.

We are currently awaiting the latest Ecovadis assessment, which we expect to be published in early April. In the previous assessment, we obtained a silver medal, placing us in the top 10% in the aeronautics sector.

More focused on environmental issues, the CDP (international reporting platform, formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project) measures our performance in Climate Change, Carbon Footprint, and Water. This year, we obtained an “A-” (Leadership) in Climate Change and a “B-” in Water Management.

All of this is achieved with everyone’s participation.

It is worth highlighting Aernnova’s participation in various initiatives promoted in the sector, both by our customers and in our community, together with other companies facing this sustainability challenge.

Aernnova is an active member of the Sustainability Club promoted by the Álava Chamber of Commerce and the Álava Provincial Council, giving us the opportunity to share best practices, lessons learned, and success stories in this field.

On December 10, a working session of this club was held, where Aernnova presented its Vision and Roadmap for Sustainability at Aernnova, taking advantage of the visit to our facilities in Berantevilla by, among other companies, Aratubo, Arania, Fiasa, Michelin, and Litalsa.
