With the aim of continuing to promote internal communication in one of its best forms, interpersonal communication, meetings have continued to be held between employees and Ricardo Chocarro, CEO of Aernnova. This time the visit has taken place in the Miñano and Ourense plants.
With these meetings Ricardo aims to know the view that employees have of the company and to establish conversations on topics of interest in a relaxed atmosphere.
In these last three meetings (2 in Miñano and 1 in Ourense) Ricardo provided a series of pre- and post-pandemic data that the attendees appreciated, as they are very useful in order to better understand the impact of the pandemic on the evolution of the company:
This year has been a year of adaptation of the company to the new reality of the sector
Ricardo pointed out that pre-pandemic levels are expected to recover over the next two years, with significant growth in air traffic and, consequently, in new aircraft deliveries, although still far from the levels reached before the crisis, also indicating that the recovery of the sector will not affect all models equally, with single-aisle models benefiting the most.
In addition, Ricardo spoke about the importance that digitalisation is acquiring in the Aernnova Group and the Zero Lantency Project that will involve the implementation of a digital operation platform.
Finally, some attendees were interested in the growth of the Company, to which Ricardo replied that inorganic growth is part of the Aernnova Group strategy, but there are other types of growth, with your own programs, expanding the scope or production rates, etc.
ANNnews asked some of the attendees for their opinions
RUBÉN FERNÁNDEZ GONZÁLEZ (COMPONENTES AERONÁUTICOS COASA)
ANNnews: What are the main points of interest you find in these CEO Breakfasts?
RFG: I think that with these meetings the CEO can get a clear picture of the profile of COASA’s employees, as well as their main concerns today. At the same time, it helps us to get an idea of how they see us from the outside and we can take advantage of this to get answers that normally nobody in the company could give us.
ANNnews: Do you think the organisation and the dynamics are adequate? What would you modify?
RFG: It was good, I think it is necessary to have this type of meeting more often with the staff so that the CEO’s message reaches everyone and that he receives the doubts that the workers have.
ANNnews: What was the atmosphere of the meeting?
RFG: Although we were all quite nervous, I think that with the help of the CEO we soon started to feel comfortable and we all started to participate actively.
ANNnews: What is your opinion about the interventions of the attendees?
RFG: All of us, to a greater or lesser extent, participated by asking the CEO questions that all of us at COASA were asking ourselves, and thanks to this meeting we have a clearer vision of COASA’s situation at Aernnova today.
Regarding the CEO’s intervention, I have to say that we were all pleasantly surprised by Ricardo Chocarro’s personality. He seemed to us to be someone who is approachable and who transmits a lot of positivism, which, given the way things are going, is very necessary.
JOANNA TALASKA (AERNNOVA AEROSPACE)
ANNnews: What do you find of interest in these CEO Breakfasts?
JT: I see these types of meetings as very positive for both sides, as they promote good two-way communication and trust. In addition, keeping employees informed about what is happening in the company and explaining the “why” of decisions and management, promotes transparency and a feeling of integration in the company.
ANNnews: Do you think the organisation and dynamics are adequate and what would you change?
JT: I found the organisation and the dynamics to be appropriate and enjoyable.
I understand that the size of the room was adequate to the requirements of keeping the distance, but unfortunately it was sometimes difficult to hear properly.
It was a good thing that the guests were from different areas (Business Development, Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics … ), it enriches the conversation and gives different points of view.
Perhaps we lacked a little more time, 1 hour seems to me very fair so that we could all participate fully.
ANNnews: What was the atmosphere of the meeting (relaxed, close, with participation, etc. or, on the contrary, disorganised, with little participation, etc.)?
JT: I liked the format of “breakfast” at a round table, as it took a lot of the heat out of the moment. It created an atmosphere of closeness that encouraged conversation and debate.
At the beginning people were more reserved with their questions, but as the meeting progressed, they became more willing to participate. Ricardo was able to create a relaxed atmosphere and at the same time showed great interest in the opinions and concerns of the different areas of the participants, taking note of their suggestions.
ANNnews: What is your opinion about the interventions of the participants?
JT: The interventions were very interesting, many related to the current situation of each function due to the pandemic but also to the latest developments such as the purchase of the industrial plants in Évora in Portugal.
