Aeronáutica y Automoción, SAU (AYA), was founded in 1995. Dedicated to the manufacture of small and medium size metal parts, in AYA we work mainly with different aluminum alloys and to a lesser extent titanium, steel and polyamide.
Our production means, given the age of the company, are more than 20 years old, but we can say that thanks to a good maintenance and a good management they are in full performance. We have 9 machining centers with 3, 4 and 5 axes, as well as a lathe.
In November 2023 came the exception, the last acquisition of AYA, a Makino D500, and we can assure that the technology has come a long way in these more than 20 years of AYA’s existence. As a significant fact, we have achieved an average reduction in machining times of 30%.
At AYA, in addition to machining, we cover the entire production spectrum of a metal part. We perform penetrant inspection, final processes (shot peening, tartaric-sulfuric anodizing, chemical conversion and painting) and equipment (installation of bushings, bearing, floating nuts and small assemblies). Everything that we cannot do internally either because of part size or because we do not have the final processes (titanium, steel) we subcontract to certified companies in the sector.
Our clients are Aernnova Group companies and we work for the most important programs of the Group: A320, A330, A350, E1, E2. KC390, Praetor, NH90, Superpuma and other small programs.
Our main programs are the A350 HTP and Pax Door (38% of our productive hours) and the A320 elevator hardware (30%), followed at a distance by the A330 WP21 traps (5%).
A320 elevator fittings is a small mini-factory within AYA as we have 2 machining machines, 1 shot peening machine and 1 assembly line exclusively for this package. With our means we have the capacity to produce more than 900 aircraft per year.
In the first half of 2023 we industrialized 129 new A350 Pax Door NPs, the 4 Canisters for the Praetor wing and 67 Inespasa NPs, also for the Praetor wing. All of them in series at full rate since we industrialized them. This speaks of the speed of our industrializations and the flexibility we have in our factory.
In AYA we are currently 76 people and I can proudly say that we have an exceptional team, a combination of youth and experience, a total commitment to Aernnova’s values: safety of all our workers, product quality and on-time delivery to our customers.
The safety and health of all of us comes first, as is well known, we have been 4 and a half years without accidents with sick leave.
This is achieved with a preventive work sustained over time and carried out by the entire staff and led by both myself and Julian Garcia (occupational risk prevention delegate), as well as the various PRL technicians we have had over the years. This leads us to be able to say that the safety culture is a fact in AYA.
We would also like to highlight how important it is for us to foster a sense of belonging to AYA. Combining this with our concern for the environment, we have been holding a tree planting day with open doors for three years now. The first year we were 20 people, this year more than 100.
We invite relatives, we do activities for the little ones (every little child has a tree), we visit the company and finally we have a meal all together.
These initiatives are very appreciated by our staff and their families.
