On Friday 3 March, took place the the three IDEM awards ceremony of Aernnova Group, within the framework of the 2022 improvement suggestions programme: (i) to the suggestion that has generated the most savings; (ii) to the person with the most suggestions implemented and (iii) to the best H&S suggestion.
The award for the SUGGESTION WITH THE MOST SAVINGS went to Jaime J. Chamero Martínez and Miguel A. Pelayo Triviño, both employees of Intec Air, with the internalisation of the A350 Closing Skin Tip, achieving improvements in costs, quality (currently it is always within the required tolerance, while the supplier was delivering non-conforming tips in its aerodynamic contour), reduction of 10 weeks of lead time and reduction of WIP.
The award for the HIGHEST NUMBER OF IMPLEMENTED SUGGESTIONS 2022 went to Miguel Ángel Pelayo Triviño, with 27 suggestions implemented.
Finally, the SAFETY AWARD went to Ricardo Rodríguez (Burulan), who has managed to eliminate ergonomic risks inherent to the tool loading operation on the vertical machine. In addition, it has reduced the number of manipulations, improving costs, and is applicable to other companies in the Group. This award aims to encourage the involvement of all employees in improving the Health and Safety of people, as one of the strategic pillars of the Aernnova Group, and to recognise the best suggestion that has been implemented in the year in all the Group’s companies in this area. In 2022, 19.7% of all the suggestions for improvement made were related to H&S.
Aernnova thanks the three for their valuable contributions and publicly congratulates them for their involvement and desire for continuous improvement.
The ceremony was held in the Meetings Room of Aernnova’s headquarters in Miñano, with the participation of Ricardo Chocarro, Ricardo Moro and Hipólito Suárez, CEO, COO and General Secretary of Aernnova respectively, the direct managers of the award winners, and the heads of Quality & Continuous Improvement and HR.
During the awards ceremony, the winners, managers and HR of Intec Air and Burulán commented that more and more people in their organisations are making suggestions for improvement, and that the cultural change and involvement in improvement is spreading and consolidating.
Ricardo Chocarro mentioned the importance of the commitment of the award winners to the improvement of the company, as well as those of the rest of the people who have participated through the Channel, and thanked everyone for their participation and contribution to the improvement of the company.
The total number of suggestions received during 2022 was 1,687, which represents a ratio of 0.55 suggestions/person, exceeding the set target of 0.48, and. The total number of suggestions implemented was 898, with an implementation rate of 53%, well above the annual target of 30% and a ratio of 0.29 suggestions/person. Both the ratio of suggestions received/person and implemented/person, and the percentage of implementation, represent the best data obtained since the implementation of the IDEM channel in 2009.
It is worth highlighting the involvement of employees in three companies, which have managed to achieve a rate of over 0.85 suggestions/person
